Griffin in front of Glienicke Palace in Wannsee, restoration financed by the Tiemann Foundation.

The Tiemann Foundation was founded in 2018 by Dr. H. Jürgen Tiemann and his wife Ingeborg. The focus of the foundation’s work is on promoting art and culture, monument conservation and nature conservation. In doing so, it concentrates on five core themes: Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes, Friends of the Prussian Palaces and Gardens, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, Berliner Stadtschloss and Heinz Sielmann Foundation.

Ab dem Jahr 2023 wird die Tiemann-Stiftung zudem einen Ankaufspreis für deutsche Museen und Kunstinstitutionen, die zeitgenössische Malerei sammeln und ausstellen, ins Leben rufen. The Tiemann Prize is endowed with 50,000 euros and is awarded annually.
