Highly gifted students are sponsored by this organisation at the suggestion of university teachers. his task corresponds to the long-term thinking of the Tiemann Foundation and is probably of above-average importance to the national economy.

Under the name Tiemann Foundation, the Studienstiftung awards funds to students who have to travel for their work, for example to analyse supra-regional research projects. According to its statutes, the Studienstiftung is not allowed to provide funds for this purpose. Last but not least, Dr. H. Jürgen Tiemann would like to use this to thank the organisation for the doctoral scholarship it granted many years ago.
